Great teachers, small classes and plenty of personal attention are what make Pilates in Brighton a wonderful discovery for me. Because you don’t have to commit to a course of lessons, I’ve been able to try out a range of classes and find the right ones for me. And I’ve been impressed by the high quality of the instructors in all the classes I’ve attended. I’m not a ‘gym bunny’ by any means, but I’ve found the friendly atmosphere and the high standards – not to mention the results I’m beginning to see – have kept me coming back and back!

A truly fantastic place. Especially on those days when you wake up full of doom and gloom – it’s the perfect antidote. I do pilates for two reasons – one because being totally vain, I want to keep in shape and secondly because it never fails to leave me with a terrific sense of general wellbeing – suddenly all feels well with the world. The instructors are all brilliant, incredibly welcoming and genuinely interested in the individual. I absolutely love it and can’t recommend it enough.

There is always a friendly welcome at Pilates in Brighton. Carolyn, the boss is great. All the staff are helpful, professional and knowledgeable. the classes are at different levels so you can find what suits you best. There’s also a good mix of both men and women doing the classes. the sessions are challenging but also fun. You know you’ve had some good exercise when you’ve finished and then there’s a choice of a variety of coffee shops nearby to chill out afterwards.
This is the perfect environment to exercise in. Its worth coming over to Kemptown in Brighton to experience exercise in this clean and airy studio which plays music that is never intrusive but pleasant, If this is near where you live – its a must! Parking is possible during the day within a few mins walk from here. I am/was not a fan of yoga or pilates particularly having tried both before at other places but I am converted here. The one to one attention and special care that Max gives to everyone of his students is great. He watches out for any ailments you may have and checks you carefully to see where improvements can be made in flexibility and movement..all in all this results in a sense of greater movement and freedom for the body, its a totally holistic treatment in my mind. The owner Carolyn is friendly, cheerful and motivational and also a good teacher..and considerate. All other staff are highly welcoming and professional so that one will look forward to going. I certainly notice I am standing taller, feeling more confident in my physicality and this enables me to enjoy my life more and be a happier more relaxed person who feels more connected and less stressed and more motivated to do well. I am sure I have Pilates to thank for this. I look forward to attending for many years to come.
Pilates in Brighton made me break the promise I’d made to myself to resist joining any more gyms/fitness groups etc. The convenient location, small groups and really friendly staff make each visit so enjoyable. And I think I may even be feeling better!
Emily provides exactly the right balance of support and encouragement, with the will to challenge and extend your physical fitness. I can say that today I am in the best shape I have been in since my hyper-mobility diagnosis 8 years ago. I highly recommend Emily and her approach to Pilates, and have recommended her to my friends, family and even perfect strangers in the gym! It would not be exaggerating to say that without Emily and her weekly sessions I would not be able to live the life that I do, and complete the physical tasks required of me everyday- she has truly changed my quality of life and my physique in the process.

Max is an exceptional, personable instructor and his classes and 1:1 machine sessions are challenging yet enjoyable. His expertise and attention to detail makes all the difference and I have noticed improvements in posture, ease of movement and muscle definition. Highly recommended!
Thank you Helen for your lovely classes – physically they have helped me so much, then in pregnancy and post pregnancy helping me gain and re-gain strength during such immense changes. Anne-Marie pays great attention to each person in the classes and has a brilliant way of explaining things to make sure you’re getting the most of the exercises. She’s an excellent teacher, with a lovely calm and genuine manner. Absolutely recommend.
