Pilates is not just for women. It’s not for wimps, its hard! Pilates builds core strength focusing on using your core to power movement in your limbs. Pilates also targets your transverse abdominals the muscle under your six-pack. Pilates forces you to pay attention to your breath while working through each movement. Pilates strengthens the core and the pelvic floor, and men who practice it have greater control of this region of the body – say no more!
Adrian qualified as a level 3 Pilates matwork instructor with Tula Training here at Pilates in Brighton. He began practising Pilates in 2001 when office work led to lower back pain. While treating his lower back he discovered the many other benefits of increased strength and flexibility that come with regular Pilates practice and has been a devotee ever since.
For Adrian, a major part of the attraction of Pilates is the accessibility of the discipline to people of all ages and ability. Improved posture and greater mobility are things everyone can benefit from. During his years of practice, he has witnessed the transformative effects of Pilates on people’s daily lives and seeks to share these through his teaching.
